Indianapolis International Airport will get a new, temporary nonstop route next year, giving spring break travelers the opportunity at another international destination.
From March 5 to April 6, 2026, Southwest Airlines will run a nonstop route from Indianapolis to San José del Cabo, Mexico, via the Los Cabos International Airport.
The flight will operate once a day on Saturdays over that monthlong period, the Indianapolis airport announced Thursday.
“Cabo is the latest win for Indy travelers—joining Punta Cana and Dublin as new international nonstop destinations,” Mario Rodriguez, executive director of the Indianapolis Airport Authority, said in a written statement. “New flights like this open doors. Cabo becomes our second destination in Mexico, and every new route means more convenience, more opportunity, and more ways we’re delivering on what Hoosiers want most.”
Southwest and American Airlines fly nonstop from Indianapolis to Cancún, Mexico, and Delta Air Lines announced earlier this year to begin nonstop service from Indianapolis to Cancún this December.
Earlier this month, airport officials announced Southwest would resume nonstop flights to Chicago’s Midway International Airport after a five-year hiatus. The airport also regained a pre-pandemic route to Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina, via Delta.
By spring break of next year, Southwest will serve 21 destinations nonstop from Indianapolis, the airline’s most ever. Southwest’s nonstop routes also include Atlanta, Georgia; Austin, Dallas and Houston, Texas; Nashville, Tennessee; Baltimore, Maryland; Las Vegas, Nevada; and Orlando, Miami and Fort Myers, Florida.
