How special, the ones being paid have not been working while those working a not being paid. What a crock, should be the other way around. Stop paying politicians during shutdowns and see how fast they come to a compromise.

I’m still waiting on the Republican alternative to the ACA that isn’t … a return to the days before the ACA, in which (among other ripoffs) pregnancy was a pre-existing condition that allowed insurers to deny coverage. Since Republicans are so “pro-life” and talk such a big game when it comes to the sanctity of life, they’d want to ensure pregnant women got effective healthcare coverage

I can’t believe that every Republican was willing to starve low income constituents to make a political point. It doesn’t seem like anyone that would do that could ever be negotiating in good faith.

Republicans are so insistent on killing the Affordable Care Act by a million cuts that they are willing and able to hurt their own voters to do it, and hold the country hostage to get it. And it worked! They got the Democrats to fold like they always do and pass those sweet, sweet tax cuts on to their wealthy donors.
Last I heard Republicans didn’t want to extend the current state of ACA subsidies for a year because they didn’t want the insurance companies to make any money. So … what’s the alternative they’re proposing, Medicaid for All? When exactly are Republicans going to produce that alternative healthcare plan? They’ve had 15 years and never have, even once, come up with anything. But some of you people keep voting for them because you’re convinced that, any day now, they’ll produce that “better and cheaper” healthcare plan they promised…
