  1. dress how you want on your own time…have as many piercings and tattoos and such as you want…but as the employer, I get to decide how you’ll be attired and present yourself while working a shift at my company.

That goes for Starbucks and folks working in offices, or working at home and joining in Zooms. Express yourself on your time…on my time, I get to set standards…

    1. But that’s not what is at issue here, is it? They’re asking for compensation for compliance, hardly an unrealistic request.

  2. gee, no one ever gave me a clothing allowance. And the wardrobe is pretty basic and can be inexpensive. A trip to Kohls, or even WalMart or Target or Meijers, would likely get you everything you need. A total of about $150 for the one young lady. Substantially less than the average office worker’s wardrobe. It’s not like the company required 3 piece suits and ties, or dress shoes, or even character costumes. They picked a basic black shirt, and denim (Dockers, or similar, or jeans ) pants in three colors. And waterproof shoes so the employees don’t soak or scald their feet when working with water or other liquids, hot or cold. I worked several jobs in high school and college which required steel toed boots or shoes. No one reimbursed me.

Really, people are so self-engrossed they can’t even buy the most basic, inexpensive work wardrobe for themselves? Get over yourselves, and get over this “self expression” syndrome. You’re going to work for a company that wants to project an image. If you’re not comfortable doing so, go deliver for DoorDash.

  3. It is not if these clothes can only be worn at work but can be worn outside of work. The issues are having to comply with new rules that are not favored. I have had to meet a dress code for 40 years and not once did my employer pay for or reimburse me for any of my clothing.

  4. all of the above makes me wonder for whom Glen K. works, and do they reimburse him for his clothing?

And J.W….I know it’s sarcasm, but you are a sick puppy…do you have them swirl it in with the whipped cream, or leave it visible?

  5. Perfect example of a company bending to every knee of their “Partners” and then being surprised homeless were camping out in the bathrooms, every location had a LGBQXYZ flag flying and profits hit the down floor button.
