  1. Have we considered that a China with excess labor & manufacturing capacity could be positioned for an economic boom similar to that of the US after WW2?

    Are we sure that this trade war doesn’t risk a stronger China? A China that has clawed its way out of its demographic crisis with a baby boom? A China that has a very powerful & dumb-money-rich middle class?

    Obviously the CCP could fumble the opportunity, but it seems like China’s ceiling is higher on this one whereas the US has more to lose. Inherent imbalance between a developed country & a developing country.

    1. And don’t forget that as we’ve closed up USAID and told the rest of the world to pound sand, China is taking up the opportunity.

      We are not interested in the investment in our infrastructure and capabilities to catch up and keep up with China. Bullying and threatening our own companies will eventually backfire on them and us. America first will be America alone and it will take decades and trillions to undo the damage done.
