Hopefully Rob can convince the Town of Brownsburg to change and have a mayor, and he can run for it. He’d be good at that post.
Well, if you listened to Rob bloviate, you would have already thought he was the mayor as he bragged about his one term on the town council as if it equated to be a US Senator.
If he was half as smart or accomplished as he thought he was, he’d be twice as smart as he needed to be…
To be honest, I used to listen to him…but for the past couple of years he does nothing but criticize, complain and never really has anything positive to say about anything or anybody. Some might say he’s unbiased, but I think he dislikes both sides and at all times and on all topics. I’m ready for some positive thoughts when I’m driving. The country is a mess and it’s time to meet in the middle. He didn’t want to do that.
Good riddance. A whiney complainer who played to the “get off of my lawn” crowd and offered no real workable solutions.
Seriously, does anyone really care ? WIBC offers just one take on social/political issues. It’s gotten so old, negative, and vehemently one-sided. They should be using a broad brush, but they take such a narrow view. It’s kind of like listening to the two old guys in the balcony on the Muppets — gripe, gripe, gripe. Can’t even trust them on local news anymore, sad to say.
+1
Someone obviously cares, they are #2 in the market. That said, Kendal was rude and had a habit of taking credit for things that were.obvious. Most of the fill in hosts did better.
Kendall just threw stuff on the wall to see if would stick. He said on air several days the abortion law had no enforcement mechanism, but later never would back up what he said. Who knows if he was wrong. The Dems get to complain, the repubs get to brag. Scared doctors certainly are not going chance it.
I think some of you may be missing the point.
Rob was an entertainer–just like Hammer and Nigel. He was our local Don Quixote–forever tilting at windmills. Some how denying his popularity seems like disrespect to his listening base.
Call me old-fashioned, but I’m a sponge for information and enlightenment. I guess you could call those people “entertainers” but it stops there. They only tilt at certain windmills. It’s tragic a once-proud radio beacon of news, information, and sports spews out so much smug and one-sided vitriol. If that’s entertainment, I’ll keep my Sirius subscription.
Anne is so close to understanding the conservative media environment. So close.
Hammer and Nigel were more tolerable when they played Nickleback on X103.
While the story says WIBC is the #2 station for listeners, it doesn’t share his show’s ratings or number of listeners compared to others in his time slot.
WIBC and the rest of “terrestrial radio” have fallen far from listenership in Boomers’ glory days 30-40 years ago, so it probably isn’t that many.
Does this really warrant two stories in IBJ in a week? Who cares about another local conservative loudmouth…the Bob & Tom Show has comedians telling stories and jokes at 9am.
If you’re a fan then your ire should be directed at Radio One, not other people who happened to not like him. I’m sure there are things I like that you don’t but that doesn’t make you disrespectful of me. That really makes no sense.
Good riddance to the malcontent! Looking forward to a reasonable voice who attracts more quality guests and moves us toward informed solutions.
Rob has worth on the local airwaves.
Indy’s loss, as some don’t want to hear anyone overly critical of the status quo
Anne Y. +1
Yippie, Rob was way too negative for me. He even turned against people he said he liked.
MRD
A misanthropic silt eating slug to be certain.
Glad he is gone! Listening to him was like a live audio version of the average Facebook Chatter page.
Rob was the radio equivalent of Taylor Swift, without the popularity. He picked a guy, then was.jilted and then tried to monetize it. He was a huge Donald Rainwater fan, then turned on him. He was a huge Beckwith fan, then turned on him. He thought Morales upsetting the Republican establishment wss great, then turned on him. He was a huge Trump acolyte and then turned on him
If all these personalities are so annoying, why do you listen to them? Get a Sirius subscription and listen to the Beatles or Jimmy Buffet.
