  1. The overhead tram “ride” has been wrought with issue since it was first installed. Quite a few very public break downs that had to rely on the fire department to rescue zoo patrons. Never a good look. What a colossal waste of money.

  2. As a zoo member for several years we have never seen the over head ride even running.

All of the kids have enjoyed the Kombo coaster and we just rode it at Zooboo. I’m surprised to hear it doesn’t bring in money.

Ironically, the train was not running during ZooBoo because it was out of fuel and closed for the day. On the weekend before Halloween??? Extremely poor planning!

    1. Wow – been on the tram ride four times. Did see it broken down a lot, mostly in the afternoon. Enjoyed seeing the Orangutans when they were out on the spire platforms. Great vision – just not enough. Mostly a get there in the morning member with the kids or friends. Hopefully they could reuse these in WRSP? Know at end of useful life, but always thought that park near the river needed a ‘ride’ or attraction.

    2. Rode the tram once soon after it opened and thought it was great with beautiful views of the city. Definitely would have ridden it again but it was never running when we went back since then. I can understand why it didn’t make money

  3. Very disappointing. I’m skeptical that removing these attractions would result in additional programming that would attract people to the zoo. The on-the-ground footprint of these rides is relatively small, and they bring unique experiences.

    1. The coaster certainly takes up enough room to accommodate new exhibit space. I’m sure most would rather see an expansion of the zoo’s animal collection rather than have a glorified carnival ride.
