City Market to join ArtsGarden in offering live music

Plans calls for regular schedule of musicians

June 4, 2010

The plan announced today for the latest renovation of City Market (see IBJ story here) calls for a regular schedule of music performances.

I'm all for that--not just for the sake of audiences but also for local musicians..

But this isn't something new. Let's not forget that we've already got the Indianapolis ArtsGarden offering music a few days a week for lunching downtowners. For example, Caribbean party band The Tides is in on Saturday. The Luke Austin Dougherty Jam Band plays on Tuesday. For more, click here.

Given the news about City Market, I'm curious if you've serendipitously stopped to listen to music in the ArtsGarden. Or if you've gone out of your way to see a particular band or musician there.

And, more importantly, who would you like to hear at City Market?

Your thoughts?.
