In addition to your neighborhood fireworks displays, here's more A&E action this week:

Treetop Outpost Opening

Conner Prairie opens its latest attraction, which is designed to promote interaction between visitors and nature. The multi-level treehouse includes plenty of space for open play as well as construction zones, areas for art and music, a connected nature walk, and more.

“Star Spangled Symphony”

The Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra starts the long holiday weekend at White River State Park for its traditional patriotic celebration (I'll let others go into how the "1812 Overture" really has nothing to do with American independence). From there, the ISO moves, true to its own tradition, to Conner Prairie.

Gregory Hancock's "Metamorphosis"

Works from the choreographer's past–including "The River's Edge" and "Between Heaven and Earth"–are billed along with the new "Out of Darkness" in this summer program from Gregory Hancock Dance Theatre.

July 1-2 Tarkington Theater Details

"FoodCon VI"

No, it's not a culinary Gen Con. This annual event at the Harrison Center celebrates the art and culture of food in Indiana. In addition to food trucks and information tables, events include "Porch Party," a group show focused on outdoor entertaining.
