“Toruk: The First Flight”

I know it was a record-shattering movie, but I’m not convinced that there’s all that large of a following for “Avatar,” James Cameron’s veritable reboot of “Ferngully.” (Quick: Name two of its characters). Yet the film is spawning a substantial addition to Walt Disney World’s Animal Kingdom park and it supplies the framework for this production from Cirque du Soleil. Look for this one to have a bit more narrative and fewer people doing one-armed handstands on each other’s’ heads than the typical Cirque show. Aug. 10-14 Bankers Life Fieldhouse Details



Indiana State Fair

The fun continues with the usual State Fair activities, plus free (with admission) concerts including The Fray, 38 Special, The Bacon Brothers, and the Happy Together Tour—including The Turtles, Mark Lindsay, and The Cowsills. Through Aug. 21  Details
