—In the wake of the hiring of new President Craig Prater (see story here), Heartland Film is losing its artistic director. Tim Irwin casually announced on Aug. 12 that he will be leaving Heartland before this year's festival in October. Greg Sorvig, Heartland's programming and marketing director, will assume some of Irwin's responsibilities during the organization's restructuring. Short term plans for Irwin include a trip back to Pakistan, where he grew up, "to get a few projects started."

—Booth Tarkington Civic Theatre has upgraded Michael J. Lasley to executive artistic director. With the company for 26 years, he supervised two relocations for the theater. A frequent director of Civic production (including October's season opener, "Young Frankenstein"), Lasley has been house sound designer for every Civic production since 1997. Civic is one of the ten largest community theaters in the United States.

—Peewinkle's Puppet Studio and the Indiana State Museum have entered into a two-year agreement that will move the 40-year-old entertainment company into 2,016 square feet of the museum. Peewinkle's will now provide more workshops, camps, and other educational programs. It opens in its new home Sept. 15 with "Peewinkle Joins the Circus."

—Classical Music Indy announced that Molly Deuberry will take over as President and CEO. Deuberry previously served as executive director of the Greater Indianapolis Progress Committee, director of communications & marketing for Indy Chamber, and communications director/press secretary for Greg Ballard's mayoral campaign.
