“The Seagull”

Playwright Anton Chekhov doesn’t get much attention in these parts. Which is why, if you haven’t seen this masterpiece, a trip to Butler’s campus is in order for this drama about an enmeshed group of family and friends gathered on a country estate. If the play is done well, just about every character will cause your heart to ache. And there's reason to expect this production to transcend since Marina Brusnikina, associate artistic director of the Moscow Art Theatre and a guest artist at Butler, is directing.
