“Mini Golf at the IMA”

Knowing a good—and successful program—when it finds one, the Indianapolis Museum of Art is bringing back its popular mini golf course, this time with a new (for the most part) batch of 18 artist-designed holes. Rather than last year's Indiana history theme, the holes on the new course are built around the natural world, tying in with the museum’s push for its outdoor amenities. A round of golf is free with museum admission or membership with public tickets also available for $8. Look for a hole-by-hole players' guide in an upcoming IBJ. May 28-Sept. 3

Indy 500 concerts, etc.

Among the official Indy 500 and 500 Festival events this week: Barenaked Ladies and the Steve Miller Band perform on Carb Day May 26 and Keith Urban headlines Legends Day on May 27 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Also on Saturday, X Ambassadors provide entertainment for the Snakepit Ball. The band will also be taking a ride in the 500 Festival Parade, May 27, along with Grand Marshall Eva Kor (co-founder of the Candles Holocaust Museum and Education Center), Olympic gymnast Madison Kocian, Nathan Kress of Nickelodeon’s “iCarly,” and, of course, the drivers.
