Family entertainment venue coming to Hamilton County

Looking for a place where adults and kids can both have a good time? A family entertainment venue could open in Hamilton County within the next year.

Two Westfield-based companies are hoping to open an all-ages attraction filled with a bowling alley, sports bar and grill, arcade, family dining and adults-only indoor and outdoor space for bocce, volleyball and basketball.

EdgeRock Development and High Velocity Entertainment have teamed up on the 2-story, 45,000 square-foot facility and are scouting locations in Westfield and Noblesville.

“It’s really a smaller version of a Dave & Buster’s,” said David Beauregard, president of High Velocity Entertainment and managing partner of Creative Entertainment Concepts.

The nearest Dave & Buster’s is at 8350 Castleton Corner Drive, just off Interstate 465, in Castleton Commons.

The center would also house a “student union” to stream weekly high school sporting events and other youth sports on a 9-by-12-foot screen. The goal is to make the student union “the place” to view youth sports in the county, according to a press release.

Beauregard also mentioned the likelihood having live music, possibly jazz, five out of seven nights per week.

The companies are considering four sites for the entertainment destination — three in Westfield and one in Noblesville.

Beauregard said he thinks the location will end up being somewhere off Indiana 32, to the west of U.S. 31, but a final decision should be made within the next month.

The venue could open by early 2016, and it’s estimated it will create 20 full-time and 35 part-time jobs.

EdgeRock, which is already working on several other sites in Westfield, will develop the building and High Velocity will manage it. High Velocity has worked on other similar entertainment attractions in South Carolina, North Carolina and Ohio.
