The Community Foundation of Boone County has selected a new president and CEO.

The foundation’s board of directors announced Wednesday that Kristi Reynolds, leader of fund development and communications for the foundation, would take over the position starting June 1.

Reynolds had been serving as the joint-interim CEO with the foundation’s philanthropic services manager Julie Cole Mecum since April 1, following the resignation of Jen Pendleton.

Pendleton announced her resignation in March to become the vice president of Toledo, Ohio-based Aly Sterling Philanthropy, which is expanding its presence in Indiana. She served as CEO for three years and earned $90,000 in 2014, according to the organization’s 990 report.

Prior to joining the foundation last year, Reynolds led the SCORE Association’s mentoring program for two years, served as director of annual giving for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana and worked as a case manager for Aspire Indiana.

Board chair Beth Casselman said the board received more than 25 applicants for the position, and Reynolds “emerged as an extraordinary match for CFBC’s mission and vision.”

Reynolds said her salary will be lower than Pendleton's because she has 10 fewer years of experience, but she did not disclose the amount. She is expecting to receive pay increases every six months based on performance and goal attainment.

The 25-year-old foundation manages more than $22 million in assets and has granted more than $21 million to organizations in Boone County.
