Hoosiers give more to GOP presidential candidates overall, but Clinton leads pack

February 21, 2016

Republican presidential candidates have raised roughly twice as much money as Democrats from Hoosiers—but Hillary Clinton has received more cash from Indiana than any other individual candidate.

What's most noticeable is that Hoosiers don't appear too good at picking winners—at least not among Republicans.

In the Republican primary, Ben Carson, who has fared poorly in early voting states, and Jeb Bush, who dropped out Saturday after a disappointing finish in South Carolina, had raised significantly more than 15 other candidates who were once in the race, according to FEC filings through Dec. 31. Frontrunner Donald Trump had raised less than $16,000.

In the Democratic primary. Clinton raised roughly four times more than Bernie Sanders.
