  • Compass roseMonon Coffee, the popular Broad Ripple hangout, is opening a second shop downtown along Central Avenue just south of 25th Street. The shop will be part of Indy's Kitchen, a new concept featuring two full commercial kitchens available for rent, said owner William Powell. It is slated to open July 1. The 2,600-square-foot facility will share a building with City Yoga.
  • Five Guys Burgers and Fries is planning a new restaurant in Carmel. The 3,000-square-foot location is planned for along Greyhound Pass east of North Meridian Street. The Virginia-based chain already has six area locations in Indianapolis, Fishers and Noblesville.
  • K&G Fashion Superstore is taking over the former Circuit City store in Castleton. The 39,000-square-foot store at 5410 E. 82nd St. replaces a store adjacent to Target. K&G also has a store on East Washington Street.
  • Dunkin Donuts plans to open its first location in Shelbyville. The shop will be attached to a Marathon station in front of the Walmart at Interstate 74 and SR 44.
  • Heroes Pizza plans to open a 2,350-square-foot shop at 9655 U.S. Highway 36 in Avon.
  • Kings Beauty at 38th Street and Post Road is moving from a 9,800-square-foot space to the 21,500-square-foot former home of Office Depot. It will be the city's largest beauty supply store, says center owner Nassimi Realty.
  • Indy Cycle and Ski plans to open in a former furniture store on 87th Street near Interstate 69. The motorcycle and jetski showroom is taking 13,000 square feet.
  • Best Buy Mobile has replaced Lids Kids at Castleton Square Mall. The cell phone retailer is next door to Macy's.
  • Subway has opened in the food court of The Fashion Mall at Keystone. Two food-court vacancies remain.
