Four retail buildings on tap for Anson development

More retail is in the works for the Anson development in Whitestown.

Midland Atlantic Development Co. LLC has filed plans for four retail buildings on a 6.4 acre property near the northeast corner of Whitestown Parkway and Perry Worth Road, along Interstate 65.

The project could cost $13 million to $15 million, according to managing principal Aaron Boyle.

The exact size of each building has not been determined, but the total project could add up to 30,000 square feet.

“We are in discussions with multiple restaurant operators and retailers, and since the site is right off of I-65, we expect restaurants to be the predominant use,” Boyle said in an email.

No tenants have been identified yet.

A handful of national and regional chain restaurants have already opened in Anson, including McDonald’s, Dunkin’ Donuts, Pie Five Pizza and Which Wich Superior Sandwiches. Flamme Burger also opened its second location at Anson last year. The first location opened in Fishers in 2015.

Anson is a $1 billion commercial, retail and housing development led by Duke Realty Co. Retail occupies the southern portion of the development, with housing in the middle and industrial to the north, all along I-65.

In the 600-acre industrial section of the development, know as AllPoints at Anson, Duke has filed plans for a 708,000-square-foot warehouse on a 40-acre parcel. It would be directly to the south of the building occupied by Kenco and General Nutrition Corp. Teants have not been identified yet. 

Other tenants in AllPoints at Anson include Amazon.com, Express Scripts and Weaver Popcorn Co.

Once completed, the industrial park could have 20 buildings totaling 8.1 million square feet.
