Real Estate Services Group Manager, Katz Sapper & Miller

In college, Jake Sciaudone knew he wanted to become a CPA and work in public accounting. Today, he helps lead Katz Sapper & Miller’s cost-segregation practice, a group of accountants and engineers who analyze construction, renovation and acquisition building costs with a goal of determining whether the costs can be recategorized in such a way that their clients’ tax liability goes down and savings go up. He started his career interning with KSM in summer 2015 and accepted a full-time offer with the firm in October 2016, progressing from an associate to a senior associate role to his current position as manager.

Proud moment in your career? “The growth of our firm’s cost-segregation practice. I began to help lead the practice in January 2020 and have since assisted dozens of clients with cost segregation analyses. These projects have collectively resulted in millions of dollars of tax savings, giving clients more capital to invest in their businesses and communities.”

What have you learned about yourself since joining the workforce? “Just being yourself is the best way to enjoy your job and navigate your career.”

Where do you see yourself in 10 years? He plans to still be with KSM and living in Carmel.
