Director of Venture Syndication, Elevate Ventures
Elevate Ventures invests in high-growth, high-potential startups. Sara Omohundro helps Elevate make investment decisions by evaluating companies to invest in, finding outside partners to invest alongside it, and monitoring the companies already in its portfolio. Omohundro started at the Indiana Public Retirement System as an intern and ended as senior investment analyst. When she joined Elevate, she moved to the other side of the table and has been able to focus on “an area of investing that was interesting to me and still impactful to the community.” She also founded and runs Women Investors Network, a networking group for women in the investment industry.
Proud moment in your career? When the chief investment officer left, Omohundro took over her responsibilities and has been leading investment operations.
What have you learned about yourself since you joined the workforce? “That I’m capable of more than I think I am.”
Where do you see yourself in 10 years? “I enjoy philanthropic work and hope to find more ways to give back and serve the community.”
