Tasting 1 – Johnson Brothers

Eagle Rare Kentucky Straight Bourbon

The nose is complex, with aromas of toffee, hints of orange peel, herbs, honey, leather and oak. The taste is bold, dry and delicate with notes of candied almonds and very rich cocoa. The finish is dry and lingering.

Weller Full Proof Kentucky Straight Bourbon

A nose of vanilla, dark cherries and caramel. On the palate, there is a balance of caramel and toasted oak. The finish is said to be long, with notes of creme brulee and chocolate.

Spirits of French Lick Mattie Gladden 5yr

Oily with a very full-bodied mouthfeel. Eucalyptus, molasses, clove, ginger. Slight citrus and grains of paradise. Long and reappearing on the back of the tongue with notes of pepper, tobacco leaf, and mint cream

Spirits of French Lick Morning Glory

Immediately sweet and mouth coating. Very oily with almost maple undertones. Toasted Kasha becomes the focus point. Like almonds roasted in butter. Viscous. Honeyed oats. Sweet toasted nut flavors, almost cereal like, give rise to a slight prickly pear jelly. Super viscous, the flavor coats the entirety of the palate and the herbaceous/mint like quality mixed with a bit of honeyed peanut leisurely reminds you of the unique mash bill.

Tasting 2 – Republic National Distributing Company

Ezra Brooks Kentucky Straight Bourbon

Baking spices vanilla and honey are welcoming to the nose. A spicey and warm mouthfeel with notes of baking spices, mint, citrus and cocoa. A medium length finish of cinnamon and nutmeg rounds out the back palate.

Rebel Kentucky Straight Bourbon

Notes of wheat bread, mint and a touch of honey on the nose. Leading into a hot but sweet mouthfeel. Returning notes of honey follow through on the palate with strong notes of cinnamon candies.

Old Forester Barrel Strength

Notice the dark, rich color of this pour, signifying the age it lays in a barrel. Classic bourbon oak and caramel on the nose with light cherries, and baking spices. Finishing with dessert qualities of cherry pie and pastry elements. Butter graham cracker nuances linger through the finish.

Tasting 3 – Southern Glaziers

Angel’s Envy Kentucky Straight Bourbon

Finished in Ruby Port barrels, Angel’s Envy Private Selection brings on a distinctly unique palate with notes of vanilla, ripe fruit, maple syrup, toast, and chocolate. Lots of brown sugar and custard, ending in stewed fruits like cherries and oranges. Hints of leather and tobacco round out the end of palate resulting in a creamy and indulgent spirit.

Bulleit Kentucky Straight Bourbon

Medium-amber in color, with gentle spiciness and sweet oak aromas. The mid-palate is smooth with tones of maple, oak, and nutmeg. Finishing long, dry and satiny with a light toffee flavor, but with deepened oak notes. Uncut and unfiltered.

High West American Prairie Bourbon

Rich and earthy on the palate with well balanced flavors of candy corn, honey nougat and sweet corn bread biscuits. Great in cocktails but has a complexity to stand on its own.

Tasting 4 – Coors Whiskey Co.

Barmen 1873 Bourbon

Caramel, vanilla, and toffee are amplified with flavors of grilled peach, raisin, and apple, while traces of coffee and dark chocolate interplay with light, sweet dill and mint, fusing with lingering cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg on the end.

Five Trails Blended American Whiskey

Complex & Elegant. A harmony of three aged straight bourbons and Colorado single malt whiskey, proofed with Rocky Mountain water.

Tasting 5 – Chattanooga Whiskey

Chattanooga Whiskey 91pf High Malt Bourbon

Made from 4 grains, including 3 specialty malts, the fermentation process highlights both the rich, high-malt character while adding a nuanced, fruity complexity. Chattanooga Whiskey 91 utilizes their version of the solera finishing process – bringing together nearly 100 barrels into a 4000-gallon, charred, white oak Solera finishing barrel.

Chattanooga Whiskey 111pf High Malt Bourbon

Cask 111 is an unfiltered, cask-forward expression.. Hand-selected by the distilling team to highlight the subtle nuances between each batch of this distinctly, full-bodied and robust whiskey. Full bodied with a warming, malty finish. Notes of chocolate covered cheery, toasted coconut and cinnamon.

Chattanooga Whiskey 99pf Tennessee Malted Rye

A malt-forward approach to rye whiskey. Made from an abundance of slow toasted and drum roasted rye malt. Resulting in a bold reinvention of rye, brimming with sweet and savory notes of candied fruit, herbs and spice.

Tasting 6 – Hard Truth Distilling Co.

Hard Truth High Road Rye

An easy-to-drink 93-proof whiskey perfect for every level of whiskey lover. Rich vanilla, maple, custard, and spice that coats the tongue. Finishing with a bold and lingering caramel note that fades to honey, coffee, and nougat.

Hard Truth Sweet Mash Wheated Bourbon Bottled in Bond

With aromas of toasted marshmallow, dark chocolate and custard, the palate follows through balancing tastes of S’mores, toasted almonds, and candied fruit.

Hard Truth Sweet Mash Four Grain Bourbon Bottled in Bond

Get aromas of butterscotch and vanilla, followed by Honeycrisp apple and butterscotch on the palate, leading to rich tobacco and oak notes.

Hard Truth Sweet Mash Bourbon

Notes of toffee, caramel, cherry, and sweet cream. Finishing with warm coffee, vanilla, and oak that lingers on the palate.
