Indiana has set a record in the number of life sciences jobs the state attracted this year.
JohnsonTwenty companies—including Dow AgroSciences, AIT Laboratories and Ascension Health—told the state they plan to add 4,071 jobs over the next several years, Indiana Secretary of Commerce Mitch Roob reported last week. They also plan investments of $570 million.
David Johnson, president and CEO of BioCrossroads, said the state has made a push to recruit life sciences companies the last several years.
“With key alignment among our public, private and university sectors,” Johnson said, “Indiana is the smart place to be for growing—or sustaining—companies in the complex business of finding, developing and delivering better products for better human health.”
