People have been cooking for thousands of years without gloves. I have worked in the food business in various capacities. Some places require gloves, others don't.
A report by the New Zealand Food Safety Authority suggests that proper hand washing is much more hygienic than wearing gloves. A New Zealand report states that wearing plastic gloves tempts food handlers to wash their hands less frequently because they canâ??t feel when something gets on their hands.
I have seen coworkers reach into the trash can, pick up a sponge off the floor, and clear tables, then go handle food. You think those people behind the counter are changing gloves all the time between tasks?
Good point, government has become an upside down pyramid of restrictions, rules and taxes. I can at least call my local elected officials and they will respond, Lugar and Bayh could care less about the people of Indiana. One County "czar" is a foolish recommendation by our former Lt. Governor (D) and Daniels should be wise to stay away past failed administrators.
