The 2,178 pending sales last month were 4.9 percent more than the 2,077 that took place in June 2011.
Year-to-date sales contracts through the first six months are up 13.4 percent compared to the same time period last year, Tucker said in a report.
Marion County sales contracts rose 6 percent in June, from 907 a year ago to 961 this year. Year-to-date sales in the county are up 13.1 percent.
Hamilton County saw 484 sales contracts signed in June, an 11.3-percent increase.
Hancock County experienced a 22-percent rise, with 89 pending sales in June. Shelby County had a 38-percent increase, with 40 sales contracts.
In Hendricks County, pending sales fell nearly 14 percent in June, to 174. Sales were down 22 percent in Morgan County, to 59.
Available homes for sale in the nine-county region dropped 13.3 percent in June, with 13,780 homes on the market, 2,117 fewer than in June 2011
Overall year-to-date sale prices for the nine-county area increased by 2.9 percent, to $152,711.
Existing home sales in central Indiana have show year-over-year improvement for 14 straight months.
