A 21-year-old driver who crashed an SUV into a home on the city's northeast side Monday night admitted to taking cocaine and heroin just an hour before crashing, Indianapolis police say. Devon Sylvester was driving westbound on East 56th Street in the 5500 block of Drexel Avenue about 10 p.m. when he drove through front yards, destroying mailboxes and damaging lawns before crashing into the living room of a house, hitting two people sitting on a couch. A teenage girl suffered serious injuries to her collar bone and face.
