Boone County businesses have a new champion: 26-year-old Bryan Brackemyre.

Brackemyre, who has been interim executive director of the Boone County Economic Development Corp. since his predecessor left for a position in state government early this year, got the full-time job effective April 1.

“He is a highly capable leader with considerable experience in economic development,” Boone EDC Board President Rick Isenhower said in a prepared statement.”

A graduate of the University of Indianapolis who is working on an MBA from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business, Brackemyre joined the Lebanon-based agency in 2009. He served as director of marketing and communications before taking over from Dax Norton, who became executive director of the state’s Office of Community and Rural Affairs.
