Indiana panel to host public forums on education

Indiana residents will get a chance to weigh in on strategies for improving the state's efforts in education, job-skills training and career-development during several upcoming forums.

Lt. Gov. Sue Ellspermann and the Indiana Career Council plan to host three meetings in May to get input from the public.

They're looking for perspectives from the business and education sectors, community development leaders and the public.

The feedback will be used to draft a strategic plan for careers and education in the state by July 1.

Issues under review by the council include employment growth and community college best practices.

Meetings are set to be held in various Ivy Tech campuses, on May 9 at Ivy Tech in Fort Wayne, May 12 in Bloomington and May 13 in Indianapolis.
