More than the Whistle Stop

The former Whistle Stop Deli at 901 East 64th St. isn’t the only building along the Monon Trail the city’s parks department is hoping to lease. The department also is offering the 38th Street Depot building at 1002 E. 38th St. (shown at right) and the Broad Ripple Depot building (shown below) at 902 E. 64th St. just north of the Whistle Stop. Paul Smith, the real estate manager for Indy Parks, is handling the leasing. The offering was in the works before the city gave locally based Venture Real Estate Services a no-bid contract to handle the disposition of city property, so the firm will not receive commissions on these deals. City officials will conduct site tours with potential bidders at 10 a.m. Nov. 12. Bids are due by Nov. 24. An earlier post on the Whistle Stop is here.
