The medical device manufacturer said it will invest $5.4 million to more than triple the size of its manufacturing operations, to roughly 60,000 square feet.
L.H. Medical, which has 65 employees, plans to double its workforce and begin hiring precision manufacturing employees and engineers early next year.
“Increase in business from new accounts and new product launches have called for the need for additional space, equipment and employees,” L.H. Industries President and CEO Bruce Emerick said in a prepared statement. “Expanding in Allen County allows us to fulfill all of these requirements and gives us the opportunity to pursue continued growth.”
The Indiana Economic Development Corp. offered L.H. Medical up to $550,000 in performance-based tax credits and up to $60,000 in training grants based on the company’s job-creation plans. Allen County will consider additional property-tax abatement at the request of the Fort Wayne-Allen County Economic Development Alliance.
Founded in 2007, L.H. Medical is a division of L.H. Industries and makes custom medical device components for the orthopedic industry.
