Tribune Broadcasting on Monday named TV veteran Larry Delia vice president and general manager of its two Indianapolis stations, WXIN-TV Channel 59 and WTTV-TV Channel 4.

He replaces Jerry Martin, who resigned effective Feb. 25 to become general manager of the NBC affiliate in Houston.

Delia, 48, comes to Indianapolis after nearly three years at a similar position in Harrisburg, Pa. From 2002 to 2008, he led two Tribune stations in New Orleans. He also worked in Vermont and Connecticut.

Martin spent six years at the helm of WXIN, commonly known as Fox59. During his tenure, the Foxc affiliate nearly tripled its amount of local news programming. WTTV is the nation's top-rated CW affiliate, said News Director Lee Rosenthal.

"Our Indianapolis stations have enjoyed tremendous growth, due largely to our focus on local programming and the expansion of local news," Tribune Broadcasting President Jerry Kersting said in a prepared statement. "Larry understands the market and knows what's necessary to keep the momentum going."

About 190 people work at the two stations.
