As a subscriber you can listen to articles at work, in the car, or while you work out. Subscribe NowCicero-based developer Mainstreet Property Group LLC plans to build a $13.3 million senior health care center in Westfield, the city announced Wednesday morning.
The 65,000-square assisted living facility, to be located on 7.5 acres next to Grand Park, will have 100 private suites and employ about 150 people when it opens in 2012.
Westfield officials say the development will support about 209 jobs during the construction phase.
Mayor Andy Cook said Mainstreet was lured to the site because of plans for the 300-acre Grand Park sports development near State Road 32 and U.S. 31. Tax incentives were not part of the deal, the city said.
The facility will feature “hotel-style living,” “multiple social destinations” and “restaurant-style dining,” according to the developer.
Mainstreet, founded in 2002, owns or co-owns 14 properties in the Midwest, including 11 senior housing or care centers. It has another six health care facilities under development.
The company has been ranked among the fastest-growing companies in the Indianapolis area by IBJ the past two years. It had revenue of $8.1 million in 2009, up from $4.4 million in 2007.
