Pence announced Monday that Deputy Chief of Staff Marilee Springer would be returning to Indianapolis law firm Ice Miller. Springer was a tax lawyer at the firm before joining the governor's team.
Springer played a key role in Pence's education and jobs skills policies. She was an early member of his policy team when he ran for governor and joined his administration after he won office in 2012.
Springer received clearance from the State Ethics Commission to return to work at Ice Miller last June. Instead, she took a new job and title with Pence working with the state's executive branch agencies.
Pence just recently apppointed a new chief of staff. Former Indiana Regulatory Commission Chairman Jim Atterholt took the position May 19.
