IndyFringe, which has long planned to add a second performance space behind its 719 St. Clair St. location, has scored a $75,000 contribution from Indy Eleven owner Ersal Ozdemir.

Targeted to open in 2015, the new Indy Eleven Theatre will complement the existing Basile Theatre, offering an additional stage for both Fringe fest and year-round programming. The new addition will also serve as a trail head for the Indianapolis Cultural Trail and provide restroom facilities.

"Arts, sports, business and community organizations all need to support one another in a world-class city," said Ozdemir in a prepared statement.

The space will be, in theater parlance, a "black box," with the added amenity of a moveable hanger wall that can open to allow for outdoor seating.

This year's IndyFringe festival, its 10th, kicks off Aug. 14.
