The Indianapolis Convention & Visitors Association said today the National Society of Black Engineers will hold its
annual convention here in March 2013.

The Alexandria, Va.-based organization is expected to draw more than 11,000
visitors who could generate about $7.3 million in direct spending, ICVA said.

The expansion of the Indiana Convention
Center, which is slated to be finished late next year, made the selection of Indianapolis much easier, NSBE Executive Director
Carl Mack said in a written statement.

More than 72 groups, representing 2.7 million visitors and $1.7 billion
in estimated spending, already have booked meetings starting in 2011 in the convention center and Lucas Oil Stadium, ICVA
said.

NSBE is a not-for-profit that supports black engineering students and professionals.
