IHETS, the Indianapolis-based organization that helps the state’s schools and universities conduct Web and video
conferencing, is looking for a new executive director.

The vacancy was created recently when Dennis A. Trinkle
accepted a position as provost and chief academic officer at Harrison College. The IHETS board is accepting applications through
the end of September. It appointed Simon Kissler, director of information technology, and Kristen Weaver, director of marketing
and human resources, as co-interim executive directors.

The Indiana Higher Education Telecommunications Act passed
by the state Legislature in 1967 originally involved a partnership of Ball State, IU, Indiana State and Purdue universities.
Now a statewide college network, IHETS last year supported a number of online learning initiatives, including 211 degree and
certificate programs via distance learning.•
