Indiana University officials say this school year’s record enrollment is leading to nearly $63 million in unexpected revenue
for its campuses across the state.

University vice president Neil Theobald told the school trustees that the addition
money will help with the hiring of top-level professors and covering unbudgeted needs.

The main campus in Bloomington
will receive $44.4 million, the largest share of the additional money. Additional money also is going to campuses in Indianapolis,
$8.2 million; South Bend, $2.8 million; New Albany, $2 million; Gary, $2.7 million; Kokomo, $1 million; and Richmond, $1.7
million.

Trustees approved the distribution Thursday even though some said they worried about IU possibly adding
too much to its ongoing faculty costs.

IU had a systemwide enrollment of 107,160 students this fall semester.
