Toyota to spend $1.4B to add EV production at Indiana plant
Production of a new battery electric vehicle at the plant is expected to result in 340 new jobs by the end of 2025, Toyota announced Thursday.
The plan is likely to be challenged by industry groups and Republican-leaning states. They have repeatedly accused the Democratic administration of overreach on environmental regulations and have warned of a looming reliability crisis for the electric grid.
Tabor, 49, who has acted as chief advocate the state’s 170 hospitals since 2016, said he is looking forward to spending more time with his family and pursuing his longtime hobby, birdwatching.
Despite cooling, the economy is still creating price pressures, a continuing source of concern for the Federal Reserve.
