"Ben Hur"(in Latin) and more

May 14, 2009
Time to empty the arts notebook:

--On the short list of bestsellers penned by Hoosiers is 1880's Biblical epic "Ben Hur," by Lew Wallace. Well, now it's coming to the stage in London...in Latin and Aramaic. Click here for more on this ambitious-to-say-the-least production.

--I love a good, creative contest. Here are the results of a recent "Twitter an opera plot" challenge.

--Robin Williams, who put his national tour on hold because of heart surgery, will get back on the road Sept. 30, relaunching the tour at IU Auditorium. See story here.

--Back in March I blogged about the departure of Dave "The King" Wilson from WIBC. Well, comments keep getting added to the post. Read them here.

--This blog has been growing rapidly in readership so, since many of you may be new here, I'd like to take a minute to remind you that you can also sign up for my free A&E e-mail blast, which goes out every Thursday. To read the latest A&E e-mail, click here. It's filled with A&E recommendations as well as a weekly ticket giveaway (Last week: Four pairs of tickets to the Cabaret at the Connoisseur.
