Rib America out; Fountain Square Music Festival in

May 31, 2013
A long-running festival disappears from the Indy lineup (at least for this year). The good news: There's a new fest with promise on the horizon.

Out: Rib America Festival. The Labor Day staple's cancellation leaves one major question:  What’s Blue Oyster Cult going to do with its free time?

In: Fountain Square Music Fest. The new all-ages outdoor event on July 4 features Truth & Salvage Co., a band Rolling Stone said was "all you need for a classic-rock party."  Also on the bill: Modoc, Kansas City Bible Company, Kaleidostars and others that you aren’t expected to know going in. Tickets are $7 in advance, $10 at the gate. And sight lines should be good for the downtown fireworks. Details here.
