I’ll get to how in a second.
First, I wanted to ask if critics—of books, art, concerts, whatever—have influenced where you’ve decided to spend your arts and entertainment money and time.
As someone who reviews every week (you can see the latest at ibj.com), I’m always interested in how reviews are used. Post your thoughts below.
OK, now about that movie night.
Be among the first 50 people to e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll set you up with a pair of tickets to the next IBJ Night at the Movies, featuring “There Will Be Blood,” the latest from Paul Thomas Anderson, writer/director of “Magnolia,” and “Boogie Nights.”
Inspired by Upton Sinclair’s novel “Oil!”, the epic film stars Daniel Day-Lewis. It opens in theaters Jan. 18, but we’ve got a screening on Thursday the 17th at AMC College Park. More information can be found at www.therewillbeblood.com.
Showtime is 7 p.m., but you should arrive early since passes do not guarantee seats. No purchase necessary, of course. The film is rated R for some violence.
We’ll be looking for your comments on the film here on Jan. 18.
