Executive pay is ‘flat’

Indianapolis-area executives are struggling to keep their compensation at last yearâ??s levels â?? which were no improvement
over
2006.

Thatâ??s the observation of compensation specialist Debi Muelller, a partner in the human relations firm HR Dimensions.

â??At best, itâ??s flat,â?? says Mueller (pronounced â??Millerâ??).

The main problem for the CEOs, chief financial officers and other â??Câ?? level offices is bonus pay. Companies havenâ??t
been hitting
profit targets, so bonuses are down.

And things wonâ??t improve much next year, Mueller says. That means executives wonâ??t exactly be in a position to demand
big
pay increases.
