The first blaze, which was reported about 12:30, destroyed three apartment units and heavily damaged three others at the Stafford Pointe Apartments. The fire took almost three hours to completely extinguish. The second fire was reported about 1:15 at a home in the 500 block of Summit Drive. The lone resident escaped unharmed. Officials said only one of the injured firefighters required hospitalization.
