As a subscriber you can listen to articles at work, in the car, or while you work out. Subscribe NowRoche Diagnostics Corp. plans to eliminate about 80 information technology jobs at its Indianapolis-area campus over the next two years, the company said Thursday morning.
The first round of reductions is to be completed by June 30.
The IT workers are actually part of Roche Group’s global pharmacutical informatics unit, however, the employees live in the Indianapolis area, said Roche spokeswoman Julie Bower.
“There’s no impact to the diagostics IT” staff here, she added.
Roche employs about 3,000 people at its Indianapolis and Fishers facilities.
In 2010, Roche announced a 6-percent, or 4,800-person, reduction in its wordwide employment. The company’s worldwide headquarters are in Basel, Switzerland.
