The call center software maker won’t comment on a report issued earlier this month by Jones Lang LaSalle that said the company is shopping for more than 225,000 square feet of office space.
That’s about as much as it already uses at its three-building campus near Interstate 465 and 71st Street, on the northwest side.
According to building plan documents filed with the state, Interactive plans to remodel at least 14,787 square feet in a building it already partly occupies at 7602 Woodland Drive. It’s known as Interactive’s “HQ3” building.

“All we can say now is that we plan to expand into additional space in our HQ3 building but currently don’t have details about timing or square footage,” said Christine Holley, spokeswoman for Interactive Intelligence.
The company employs more than 1,300 people worldwide, including 700 in Indiana. Employment at Interactive, founded by local entrepreneur Donald Brown, has doubled since 2006.
The software company’s two principal office buildings face I-465, and on any given weekday employee parking spaces there are filled. The building on the north is shared with Indianapolis-based wireless phone distributor BrightPoint.
BrightPoint last month agreed to be acquired, for $840 million, by California-based Ingram Micro, the world’s largest tech distributor and supply chain services provider.
That could free up space for Interactive down the road. Ingram expects the BrightPoint deal could produce cost efficiencies of $55 million.
Other opportunities are on the horizon. This month, Ace Commercial Development bought 50 acres in Intech Park for a build-to-suit space for an unnamed company.
Real estate sources say that company is Heritage Environmental Services, which seeks 100,000 square feet. Observers said the 50-acre tract would have the capacity for another 500,000 square feet of additional Class A office space.
