[Bill Benner] made some reasonable points for and against soccer in [his June 28 column]. Your opinion lost all credibility
for me in the end, though, because you obviously didn’t do your homework. You stated Puerto Rico blew out South
Korea 7-0. Puerto Rico isn’t even in the World Cup. I am assuming you meant Portugal blew out North Korea 7-0 (at least
you got the score right).
I am not a huge soccer fan. But I have kids that play and I enjoy most sports, so I pay attention. I am disappointed that
you couldn’t at least make that much effort—especially if you were going to write an article about it.
