A $100 million neuroscience center Indiana University officials say will offer a "one stop shop" for patients recovering from head and spinal injuries, strokes and other medical conditions is days away from opening its doors in Indianapolis.

The 270,000-square-foot Indiana University Health Neuroscience Center was dedicated during a Friday ceremony at which IU President Michael McRobbie called it "a truly magnificent new building."

The center opens Monday to patients, but the public can tour its cutting-edge offerings such as robotic rehabilitation equipment on Saturday.

The building opening Monday is named Goodman Hall in honor of Dr. Julius Goodman, the late neurosurgeon who proposed the center's creation. Goodman Hall is the first half of the neuroscience center. A $52 million clinical research center now under construction will complete the project.
