being put on hold over a top lawmaker’s objections to the schools’ tuition increases.
Republican Sen. Luke Kenley
of Noblesville says the State Budget Committee will consider projects for both universities at its meeting Friday.
Kenley withheld approval for Purdue capital projects in August to show his displeasure over the university’s decision to
raise tuition by 5 percent. He also threatened to delay IU projects because of their tuition increases but allowed two projects
to go through.
He says more projects at the schools will be considered now because of steps they’ve taken to lower
costs.
