However, since a replacement was found earlier, Herbert now will step down July 1 this year.
Trustee President Steve Ferguson credited McRobbie with showing he has what it takes to lead an institution like IU, and that he has elevated the university’s stature in informatics and life science research.

Indiana economic development specialists earlier today hailed McRobbie for the contribution to the state’s economy they anticipate he will make.
The other finalist was Ora Pescovitz, associate dean for research affairs at the IU School of Medicine and CEO of Riley Hospital for Children.
