Judge fines woman waging Web war against plastic surgeon

Judge Sarah Evans Barker declared a Massachusetts woman in contempt of court for failing to remove her negative Internet
postings about an Indianapolis cosmetic surgeon.

Barker, a federal judge in Indianapolis, ruled in favor of Dr.
Barry Eppley earlier this month. She fined Lucille Iacovelli $7,750 and said the fine would grow $50 a day until Iacovelli
removes negative comments and videos about Eppley from 31 Web sites.

Iacovelli has waged a Web campaign against
Eppley since 2001. She says he botched her face-lift surgery and left her with breathing difficulties. She has told Eppley’s
lawyers she would remove all her Internet postings if they deal with her outside of court.

Eppley, a former professor
at the Indiana University School of Medicine, is co-owner of the Ology spas at the Clarian North and Clarian West medical
centers. He filed suit in March after he said Iacovelli posted a message on his Web site saying she would commit suicide on
an Internet video in April. Iacovelli accused Eppley of fabricating the suicide message.
