Arkansas wire-maker Tokusen USA Inc. plans to establish a manufacturing plant in Scottsburg, state economic development officials
said Wednesday, touting the nearly 135 jobs expected over the next two years.

The company, a subsidiary of Tokusen Group of Japan, is making a multimillion-dollar investment in a 300,000-square-foot
facility that will make sawing wire for the solar energy industry.

Tokusen USA employs about 300 workers at a plan in Conway, Ark. It plans to start hiring employees for the Indiana operation
immediately. Production in Scottsburg—about 85 miles south of Indianapolis—is expected to begin in August.

The Indiana Economic Development Corp. offered Tokusen up to $1.1 million in performance-based tax credits and as much as
$75,000 in training grants. The city of Scottsburg also is expected to provide a property tax abatement.
