The American Occupational Therapy Association will hold its 92nd Annual Conference & Expo in Indianapolis April 24-28,
2012, a coup for Indianapolis Convention & Visitors Association officials who are trying to pull in more health-related
conferences.

The AOTA gathering is expected to draw 6,000 attendees and fill nearly 7,000 hotel room nights. The Conference & Expo
will take place at the Indiana Convention Center.

“This is an important group for us, as it fits precisely into our strategy to attract medical and life sciences conventions,”
said ICVA President Don Welsh.

AOTA’s national conference last took place in Indianapolis in 1999 with a direct visitor spending estimated at $4 million.

AOTA, based in Bethesda, Md., is the national professional association established in 1917 to represent the interests and
concerns of occupational therapy practitioners and students of occupational therapy.

Membership is approximately 39,000, including occupational therapists, occupational therapy assistants and occupational therapy
students.
